javaensis, manchurica, minutus, sumatranus, trevelyani

Leopard Cat in a cage

Conservation status: The leopard cat is considered to be abundant across most of its range.  The manchurica subspecies on the Tshushima islands is critically endangered and may number less than 100.  It is protected in certain areas by local legislation and hunting is either prohibited or regulated. 

Distribution: The Asian leopard cats range includes much of Asia and some island populations in Manchuria, the Phillipines and Japan.
